ABOUT

I was born in Belém, in the region of the Amazon, and grew up immersed in a world of creation: my home was the design studio of my parents, both architects. Following in their footsteps, I earned my degree in Architecture from the University of the Amazon (UNAMA). Shortly thereafter, I moved to São Paulo, with a brief one-year stint in Rio de Janeiro.

Arriving at Avenida Paulista was a turning point; it felt like stepping into a science fiction movie. Fascinated by urban dystopia and cyberpunk aesthetics, I established myself there as an entrepreneur and creative architect. It was during this time, while running along the *Minhocão*, an expressway that sheds its traffic at night to come alive as a pedestrian park, that my aesthetic foundations began to shift.

After completing a postgraduate degree in Art Direction and Communication, I decided to take a major leap. I left commercial architectural renderings and imagery behind, allowing myself to discover the potential of my own artistic voice. I became an independent artist. I participated in the first *Bienal do Ouvidor* (Latin America’s largest art occupation), worked as a street musician, set up an active studio in downtown São Paulo, and spearheaded collaborations within art collectives.

My next step took me to Lisbon, where I lived in a motorhome for several years. This period of detachment and deep spiritual dedication brought symbolism to the core of my work, fueled by the study of mystical mysteries and psychological archetypes, such as the Tarot. Although I briefly returned to creative architecture, i winning an award in the process, art soon reasserted itself like a storm of ideas. I secured a studio in a Lisbon cultural center, joined a collective with its own gallery in the city center, and held a solo exhibition at Arroz Studios, where I presented nearly 50 works, almost all of which were sold. Today, I live in Germany, where I continue to create and serve collectors who have been captivated by my work over the years. Now settled in Leipzig with my family, I am embarking on a new creative phase: I am studying neuroscience and psychoanalysis to incorporate the depths of the human mind into my future creations.

Kalil Gaby’s art is a journey of self-awareness and transcendence, an invitation to explore the invisible and reflect on the impact of technology in our everyday lives. Through his works, he challenges us to look beyond the surface, question what lies behind it, and seek a deeper understanding of what it means to be human in today’s digital world.
